I’ve got one and a half petals left to do on the blue poppy, and the centre, and then I’m finished!

I have to have finished, and have it washed and ironed, ready to post by next Thursday.

Now, I have to admit to a little frustration on my part, having been working on this project for so long now, and having done the Rust Red Iris before it. I have a faint urge to scream as I do yet more long and short stitch.

So, I’m going to do a petal (or centre) a day, but otherwise start on my Historical Sampler (!!!)

That gives me plenty of time, and a change in pace.

The EverTite frame won’t be here for a few days, so I’ve lined up the muslim backing and the linen ground in a small ring frame, centered on the first motif I want to do. That’ll do to start with.

(I had terrible service from NeedleinaHaystack where I got the frame from, btw – apparently they were happy to let me wait until enough orders for the EziTackIt had accrued before ordering any, and sending me *any* of the order. I cancelled the EziTackit and am going to get a suitable hammer and brass tacks from my hardware store)

So, now for details on my first motif …..

I plan to do the rose with blossoms and then the rose with rosehips near the centre first, and I’ve had a request to “please do the bug with the googly eyes” as well. *grin*

I bet you're looking forward to getting started!

Too bad about Needle in a Haystack - it's really not like them. I order from Cathe all the time, and have always received most excellent and quick service. If they don't have something in stock they contact me right away. It's only been a couple times that they haven't had what I've needed, and it's always followed pretty quickly on the rest of the order.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that you're in Australia, and the shipping is probably pretty high, so they didn't want to break up your order and have to charge you twice on shipping....?

Have fun getting started on the piece!
