Firstly, yep, still sick (what immune system?). Proceeding very slowly, but I am proceeding.

----------

I ordered a special battery for my camera from Ebay but it turned out to be the wrong one. I've got a friend looking into a new dock for me, and I'll grab some ordinary AA's on Thursday and hope that they have enough juice for the camera. (Apparently they are compatible, but after the CVR3 battery not fitting, I'm not feeling lucky)

--------

I've just published a post on Elizabethan Stitches. (see below this one)

It lists all the Elizabethan surface stitches that I know of, and contains a partial list of where I talk about those stitches in my blog entries. I haven't finished going through my blog yet, but I thought I'd publish what I'd done so far because I haven't put anything in my blog for a few days.

I'll then be updating it in the future as I play with more stitches.

----------

I've finished the goldwork rose and that 5 pearl 'flower', and am just about to start doing a Detached Buttonhole leaf next to the rose. I've always used a Return thread with my Detached Buttonhole stitching - and it's in my list without a Return thread, so I want to tick that off.

It's a copy of a leaf from the Burrell Collection 1600-1700 book, (page 44) using two threads in the needle for a variegated look in the second section from the bottom.

The rose at the bottom here is similiar to my rose, except I have gold Lurex and Pearl Purl at the edges, and pearls for the sepals but the pinkcolour is pretty much the same.

Notice that the leaf has a matching pink on it's tip - I'm doing the same thing.

Whilst looking in the Burrell Collection book, I found a really nice wasp/insect on page 64 that I thought I'd share.

I wish I'd seen it before embarking on my Turkey Knot bee. Turkey Knots aren't even listed in the Elizabethan Stitch list I've come up with!

Note the semi detached top pair of wings. Nice.
The body looks like it has been done in Raised Stem Stitch, the same as I did for a snail,
